Dr Donna Marcal

CO-FOUNDER, DERMATONICS

Dr Donna Marcal is the co-founder of Dermatonics. After working in the medical industry as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, she completed her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Ottawa in Canada. The focus of her research is centred on inflammation and macrophages, publishing in the areas of biomaterials research and atherosclerosis. Her research has awarded her fellowships from the Canadian and Australian governments to continue her work here in Australia. Switching from academia, Dr Marcal and her husband Dr Helder Marcal began developing formulas to launch their brand Dermatonics in 2016, centring their formulas around addressing inflammation and tissue regeneration. Today Dr Marcal focuses her time on Dermatonics, formulating new products for her brand and continuing to grow the education modules with her brand and her clinic partners.
